Sintering Temperature Effects on Photocatalytic Activity of SrTi0.80Mn0.20O3

Abstract: SStrontium titanate (STO) is well recognized as promising perovskite photocatalytic material. The catalytic characteristics of STO can be improved by modification with Mn metal. In this study, SrTi0.80Mn0.20O3 has been successfully fabricated using coprecipitation technique with varied sintering temperatures of 700°C, 800°C, 900°C, and 1000°C. This study aimed to investigate the effect of sintering temperature on the photocatalytic activity of SrTi0.80Mn0.20O3. The photocatalyst activity of SrTi0.80Mn0.20O3 co… Show more

“…The absorption peak around 3440, 3443, and 3447 cm −1 can be caused by the strain vibration of hydroxyl lattice from Ti-OH or by Sr-OH [6]. Additionally, the peaks around 1460 and 1466 cm −1 can be attributed to the vibration of C-H [13]. The presence of carbonate compounds shows the impurities in the samples.…”

“…An effective strategy to spread the absorption into the visible region is by doping various elements into the host lattice of these materials. Doping with metals or nonmetals such as Co, Cr, Fe, La, Mn, Na, K, Al, V, and Rh could decrease the band gap of SrTiO3 and later enhance its photocatalytic activity [1,3,4,9,[11][12][13][14]. The materials have been explored for doping and co-doping Sr or/and Ti sites.…”

“…Of these techniques, the co-precipitation method can produce powders with high homogeneity. Besides, the technique is easy to control via stoichiometry and easy procedure [19][20][21]. One other essential thing, the sintering temperature plays a crucial role in the material formation.…”
