Sir George Frederic Still (1868–1941): A ‘father’ to many children

Abstract: This paper explores the life and works of a man who defied the limitations of his humble beginnings to become recognised as one of the most notable physicians in the UK to date. Sir George Frederic Still was a pioneer in the field of paediatrics and has earned a reputation as a man who loved both his work and his patients. It is the intention of this paper to cast light on the contribution this man made to the medical profession.
