Sister Chromatid Exchange and Mitotic Stimulation in Lymphocytes from Four Species of the Genus Saguinus

Abstract: Lymphocytes from 18 tamarins of four species were cultured in bromodeoxyuridine (BrdUrd) supplemented medium, stained by a fluorescence plus Giemsa (FPG) method, and evaluated for both sister chromatid exchange (SCE) and mitotic stimulation. The overall SCE frequency was found to be 7.02 ± 3.45 per cell with individual cells containing from zero to 33 spontaneous SCEs.
