“…Al-Saif et al [ 40 ] synthesized six new PdCl 2 -based palladium complexes—one with picolinic acid ( Figure 12 , structure 23), isonicotinic acid ( Figure 12 , structure 24), nicotinamide ( Figure 12 , structure 25), and these complexes with an additional caffeine ligand ( Figure 12 , structures 26–28). In cytotoxicity assays on colorectal adenocarcinoma (Caco-2) and breast cancer (MCF-7) cell lines, each of the synthesized compounds was found to have this activity.…”

“…In cytotoxicity assays on colorectal adenocarcinoma (Caco-2) and breast cancer (MCF-7) cell lines, each of the synthesized compounds was found to have this activity. However, among the six complexes, the most potent activity was demonstrated by the complex with picolinic acid ( Figure 12 , structure 23), which indicates that it may be a potential anticancer compound used against human colorectal adenocarcinoma and breast cancer [ 40 ].…”

“…The characteristic azomethine ν(CN) imine peak appeared at 1632 cm –1 in L TH , which shifted to a lower frequency in the corresponding M(III) complexes, 1609–1627 cm –1 range, confirming the involvement of imine nitrogen in coordination with metal ions (Figures S14–S19). , Chelation leads to a weakening of the CN bond owing to the inductive effect of the lone electron pair on imine nitrogen being shared with the M(II) center. In the 2900–3100 cm –1 region, the medium-to-weak bands are assigned to aliphatic and aromatic υ(C–H) stretching vibrations …”

“…Pyridine ring plays a significant role in many biological systems, such as nicotinamide (vitamin B3), iso‐nicotinic acid, picolinic acid, and nicotinic acid. Pyridine derivatives are associated with some important biological activities such as antitumor, antitubercular, fungicidal, anthelmintic, and antibacterial activity (Abdullahi et al, 2021; Al‐Saif et al, 2020; Eryılmaz et al, 2020; N'Guessan et al, 2017; Tahir et al, 2021). Moreover, coumarins are a vast class of natural products widely occurring as secondary plant metabolites (Hu et al, 2020; H. Liu et al, 2018) and exhibited high levels of biological activities, including antimicrobial, antioxidant, insecticidal, anti‐HIV, anticancer, and antibiotic (Peng et al, 2016; Qin et al, 2020).…”
