“…In fact, no secretory activity of progesterone in such females was confirmed by other investigation (Vermeulen 1976). The findings that post-menopausal females might be suffered by abnormal breathing during sleep with the same incidences as in the males (Block et al 1980) would also support this inference. The effect of CMA was observed almost the same between males and post-menopausal females, that is, aP.2/P~oz in males and post-menopausal females before CMA were 0.50+0.35 and 0.41+0.06 cmH2O• mmHg 1, respectively, and load compensation ratio changed by CMA from 0.94+ 0.36 to 1.49±0.32, and from 0.99±0.32 to 1.32±0.10, respectively.…”
