“…There is limited re-search on the relationship between inverted papilloma and sleep apnea, but several studies have explored the connection between other causes of nasal obstruction and OSA. A clinical trial published in 2019 [ 11 ]. concluded that endoscopic sinus surgery for nasal polyps improves sleep efficiency by dramatically decreasing the arousal index on polysomnography following nasal permeabilization.…”

“…This scale has been applied in most studies to evaluate the subjective quality of life and sleep quality, and the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), 36-item Short-form Health Survey, the Symptom Checklist 90, and healthrelated quality of life have also been used. The GDG was able to find 13 clinical studies [38,39,42,43,45,46,48,[52][53][54][55][56][57] and six systemic reviews or meta-analyses [40,[58][59][60][61][62] on the effects of nasal surgery on daytime sleepiness and quality of life in OSA patients. As a result of analyzing the above research, subjective symptoms such as ESS score and quality of life were significantly improved, which were very consistent as results.…”

“…A total of 18 studies investigated the changes in oxygen status due to nasal surgery [38,42 48,52,56,57,71,72,7476,80,81], including one RCT and 17 observational studies. In addition, the GDG performed a meta-analysis on oxygen status with 14 controlled trials for the effect of nasal surgery on minimum O2 saturation [38,4247,52,56,57,71,74,75,81]. The analysis revealed significantly improved lowest O2 saturation in the nasal surgery group compared to the control group (standard difference in means, 0.261; 95% CI, 0.128-0.393; P<0.001; Fig.…”
