Sliding Mode Control of Hydraulic Pressure in Electro-Hydraulic Brake System Based on the Linearization of Higher-Order Model

Abstract: The possibility to enhance the stability and robustness of electrohydraulic brake (EHB) systems is considered a subject of great importance in the automotive field. In such a context, the present study focuses on an actuator with a four-way sliding valve and a hydraulic cylinder. A 4-order nonlinear mathematical model is introduced accordingly. Through the linearization of the feedback law of the high order EHB model, a sliding mode control method is proposed for the hydraulic pressure. The hydraulic pressure … Show more

“…Furthermore, a fuzzy logic inference mechanism removes the chattering issue from conventional sliding mode control by employing a hitting control law. Currently, thanks to the robust development of engineering software, virtual prototyping technology can simulate and evaluate real system performance without experiments, lowering manufacturing costs and errors while ensuring product quality [30][31][32][33][34][35][36]. The tracking control performance of the EHA is evaluated through a virtual model created using Amesim software.…”

“…The realization of intelligent driving depends on chassis drive-by-wire technology. The hydraulic brake system (EHB) belongs to the technology branch of braking by wire in chassis drive by wire, which has also promoted the development of braking from traditional braking to brake-by-wire systems (Chen et al, 2020). The EHB system used in new energy vehicles has the advantages of safety, comfort, fast response, easy realization of regenerative braking, and accurate control of braking force (Yu et al, 2017).…”

“…Cheng et al [7] analyzed the impact of different topologies and energy management strategies on the heating system from the perspective of heating. Chen et al [8] used the sliding mode control method to effectively realize the prediction and fine-tuning of the braking system, which can achieve faster response. After in-depth research by scholars from various countries, the current energy management strategy can be roughly divided into the following categories: (1) Rule-based energy management strategy.…”
