Slope aspect affects geomorphic dynamics of coal mining spoil heaps in Belgium

Abstract: After the abandonment of coal mining in Belgium in the 1960s-1980s, many coal tips have been left to themselves. Increasingly, these coal tips are regarded as socio-cultural heritage and protected for their environmental value.
