Abstract: Malaria rapid diagnostic tests (RDTs), which detect Plasmodium falciparum (Pf)-specific histidine-rich protein-2 (HRP2), have increasing importance for the diagnosis and control of malaria, especially also in regions where routine diagnosis by microscopy is not available.
