Small angle X‐ray scattering investigations on cold‐drawn nylon 6

Abstract: Small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) on cold-stretched nylon 6 supports the model of fully extended chains as a consequence of mechanical deformation. There is no evidence for the persistence of lamellar fragments. The ordered zones present before cold-stretching exhibit a dimension of 4,7 nm and those formed after cold-stretching and annealing one of 6,3 nm in fibre direction.
