“…A recent study in Ireland and the UK revealed that younger (18–24 years) individuals are more vaccine-hesitant [ 27 ]. In the USA, an estimated 86% of people over 61 years of age are more likely to receive the vaccine against SARS-CoV-2 [ 28 ]. Another study in Jordan and Kuwait found that the SARS-CoV-2 vaccine acceptance rate is higher among males and people with higher educational attainment [ 29 ].…”

“…To evaluate the effect of ILD on susceptibility to COVID-19, the odds ratio (OR) for the presence of ILD in the COVID-19 cohort relative to that in the age-, sex-, and the residence-matched cohort was evaluated using univariable and multivariable logistic regression analyses. In multivariable analysis, covariates which not only may affect the relationship between ILD and the susceptibility of COVID-19, but also are significant in univariable analysis (p<0.05) were adjusted: the type of insurance, reflecting socioeconomic status [ 22 ] and comorbidities (lung cancer, CTD, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular disease [angina pectoris, myocardial infarction, and heart failure], and cerebrovascular disease. Additionally, to evaluate the effect of ILD on the occurrence of severe COVID-19, we evaluated the OR for severe COVID-19 in patients with ILD relative to those without ILD using the COVID-19 cohort.…”

“…20 Daily intake estimates were based on the average of 2−3 dietary recalls conducted annually during the same seasonally matched 37-day window (Appendix, available online, shows the data collection details). 18 Intake levels for 31 dietary components, shown in Appendix Table 1 (available online), were obtained from the Nutrition Data System for Research and were used to calculate the DII. 11 This metric is designed to reflect the relative level of internal inflammation caused by dietary exposures.…”

“…Participants were enrolled in a prospective cohort study designed to evaluate dietary patterns among residents living in 2 low-income urban neighborhoods that have limited access to stores selling fresh and healthy foods. 18 Data were collected at 3 timepoints: baseline (2015−2016), 12 months (2016−2017), and 24 months (2017−2018). The study neighborhoods represent 11 census tracts in Cleveland (7) and Columbus (4), Ohio, with a combined population of >18,000, of which more than two thirds are African American, and about 40% receive SNAP benefits.…”
