Small nucleolar RNAs signature (SNORS) identified clinical outcome and prognosis of bladder cancer (BLCA)

Abstract: Background: Small nucleolar RNAs (snoRNAs) are a new non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs), which have not been widely investigated and are identified to be involved in tumorigenesis. But the function of snoRNAs in BLCA has not been reported yet. Methods: SnoRNAs signature (SNORS) was constructed through LASSO cox regression analysis. Integrated analysis of candidate snoRNAs was performed to detect the correlation between copy number variation (CNV)/DNA methylation/protein/mRNA/alternative splicing (AS). Then we built a no… Show more

“…Liu et al used TCGA genome-wide RNA-seq dataset to investigate sarcoma prognostic-related snoRNAs, and identified 15 sarcoma prognostic-related snoRNAs, as well as constructed a sarcoma prognostic signature base on four snoRNAs (24). Cao et al carried out screening for prognostic snoRNAs by using the least absolute and selection operator (LASSO) Cox regression method, and developed a bladder cancer prognostic signature composed of five snoRNAs (25). Both of the above studies confirmed that U3 can be used as a prognostic marker for corresponding tumors (24,25).…”

“… 25 Risk score models based on prognostic genes related to metabolism, 26 pyroptosis, 27 and ferroptosis 28 have been established for DLBCL, providing novel ideas for individualized therapeutic strategies in DLBCL patients. The past few years have witnessed the potential of several snoRNAs as prognostic molecular biomarkers in various cancers, and predictive risk signatures based on certain snoRNAs have been found in carcinomas of the lung, 29 , 30 liver, 31 stomach, 32 colon, 33 kidney, 34 , 35 bladder, 36 head and neck, 37 and eyes, 38 as well as sarcoma, 39 and T‐cell lymphoma. 40 The current literature has reported the potential oncogenic functions of several snoRNAs in the carcinogenesis of DLBCL, 16 , 17 , 18 , 19 and SNHG12 might be a risk factor for the clinical outcome of DLBCL patients.…”

“…Bladder cancer (BC) is the most common malignant tumor of the urinary tract (47). About 70% of patients diagnosed with bladder cancer have non-muscle-infiltrating BC, with the remaining 25-30% having myometrial-infiltrating BC.…”
