Smart Cement Modified with Nano Fly Ash and Micro Fiber for Oil Well Applications

Abstract: Adequate slurry design is critical to the success of a cementing work. In this study, a ball mill procedure was used to prepare a nano powder from a fly ash material supplied by Al-kufa Cement Factory for re-inforcing the oil well cement through using it as a partial replacement of oil well cement class G by a weight percentage of(0.25%,0.5%, 0.75% and1%)and micro fiber polypropylene at percentage (0.25%,0.5%,0.75%,and 1%).The mix with a water to cement ratio was made at 0.44.Characterizations of the prepared … Show more

“…The cement hydration is a critical step in the preparation of cementitious materials where all mechanical and physical properties are highly dependent on it. Calcium Silicate Hydrate (C-S-H) is the main product of the hydration of Portland cement (Abdulhamead et al , 2019) and Raki et al (2010), which is almost amorphous material – that build up to about 60% by volume of the blend. C, S and H represent, CaO, SiO2 and H2O.…”

“…Abdulhamead et al (2019) had used a fly ash nano powder for reinforcing the oil well cement through using it as a partial substitute of oil well cement by a Wt.% of 0.25, 0.5, 0.75 and 1% and micro fiber polypropylene at 0.25, 0.5, 0.75 and 1%. The results revealed an improvement in density and compressive strength.…”
