Intravenous (IV) infusion therapy allows the infusion fluid to be inserted directly into the patient’s vein. It is used to place medications directly into the bloodstream or for blood transfusions. The probability that a hospitalized patient will receive some kind of infusion therapy, intravenously, is 60–80%. The paper presents a smart IV infusion dosing system for detection, signaling, and monitoring of liquid in an IV bottle at a remote location. It consists of (i) the sensing and computation layer—a system for detection and signaling of fluid levels in the IV bottle and a system for regulation and closing of infusion flow, (ii) the communication layer—a wireless exchange of information between the hardware part of the system and the client, and (iii) the user layer—monitoring and visualization of IV therapy reception at a remote location in real time. All layers are modular, allowing upgrades of the entire system. The proposed system alerts medical staff to continuous and timely changes of IV bottles, which can have positive effects on increasing the success of IV therapy, especially in oncology patients. The prescribed drip time of IV chemotherapy for the full effect of cytostatics should be imperative.

Kebocoran pada pipa merupakan hal yang paling sering kita temui dalam permasalahan sehari-hari. Permasalahan ini menyebabkan kerugian secara ekonomi, baik oleh perusahaan penyedia air bersih maupun pengguna. Dalam penerapannya mendeteksi kebocoran pipa biasanya hanya menggunakan cara manual yaitu dengan hanya melihat dengan kasat mata. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji keefektifan pendeteksi kebocoran pipa yang dapat dipantau secara online. Pada penelitian ini metode yang digunakan yaitu mendeteksi aliran air yang masuk kedalam flow sensor dan tekanan yang dihasilkan dari dalam pipa yang akan dideteksi oleh sensor tekanan MPX10GP. Dari hasil tekanan dan arus yang dihasilkan akan menunjukkan seberapa besar yang dihasilkan apabila menghasilkan nilai tekanan yang tidak biasa maka ada indikasi bahwa pipa mengalami kebocoran. Data yang telah dibaca dan diperoleh dari sensor nantinya akan dikirim oleh NodeMCU ESP8266 ke dashboard adafruit.io yang bisa dipantau dari mana saja oleh pengguna ataupun teknisi.

The major goal of this project is to develop a saline drip detection and control system used to inject saline or intravenous fluids into a patient's veins. This project presents an IoT-based system to address issues such as fluid backflow, blood loss, and so on. Solution to concerns like fluid backflow and blood loss, among others. As a result, we devised the Automated Intravenous Drip Monitoring System. In this project, we utilize an Arduino-based microcontroller to manage the drop rate, detect tube obstruction, and warn the user when the drips are emptied. Here we are going to monitor the drip rate whether it is low or over, by using ultrasonic sensor. By using the MEMS motion sensor, we can also detect the patient's movement while taking drips after they have undergone some surgery or in ICU condition. In addition, we are going to estimate the possibilities of blood clotting in the veins of the patient. If motion is detected in the infusion hose, the sensors will alert the doctors or nurses with a buzzer and an LED light. The flow rate and infusion interruption problems were monitored by transmitting the data wirelessly via Bluetooth via their smart phones using mobile applications and computer-based applications. As a result, at the nurse's station, the developing system can closely monitor the drip infusion situation of numerous patients.
