Smart Lockdown Strategy, Second and Third Waves of Covid-19 in Pakistan: A Political Discourse Analysis

Abstract: Purpose: The present study investigates the violations of SOPs regarding the spread of COVID19 during the political processional campaigns in the Gilgit Baltistan and Senate elections in Pakistan held just before the second and third waves of COVID-19. For instance, during the first wave Pakistani government employed a smart lockdown along with persuasive awareness campaign.
