Abstract:A simple but efficient colorimetric assay was developed for the detection and quantification of acid phosphatase (ACP) using a smartphone. This strategy is based on target-controlled iodine-mediated etching of gold nanorods (AuNRs). Due to effective hydrolysis of the substrate pyrophosphate (PPi) by ACP, chelated Cu 2+ with PPi was released, which promoted the redox reaction with an iodide ion (I −), leading to the formation of I 3 −. As the etching agent of AuNRs, I 3 − caused a blueshift of the localized sur… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
