SMEFT predictions for gg → hh at full NLO QCD and truncation uncertainties

Abstract: We present a calculation of the NLO QCD corrections for Higgs-boson pair production in gluon fusion including effects of anomalous couplings within Standard Model Effective Field Theory (SMEFT). We study effects of different truncation options of the EFT expansion in 1/Λ and of double operator insertions, both at total cross-section level as well as for the distribution of the invariant mass of the Higgs-boson pair, at $$ \sqrt{s} $$ s … Show more

“…Results for gg → hh have already been obtained in the non-linear Higgs Effective Field Theory (HEFT) at full NLO QCD [1], and later have been matched to parton showers in a Powheg-Box [2][3][4] implementation [5]. Here, we present NLO QCD results for Higgs-boson pair production within the Standard Model Effective Field Theory (SMEFT), based on the calculation explained in more detail in [6]. Our formalism allows the user to choose between different truncation options.…”

“…Corrections have been computed at NLO within a nonlinear Effective Field Theory [509] and used to reweight the NNLO HTL results [510]. SMEFT predictions and uncertainties for gg → HH were studied at NLO QCD in [511].…”
