SnO2 Transparent Printing Pastes from Powders for Photon Conversion in SnO2‐Based Dye‐Sensitized Solar Cells

Abstract: Tino xide (SnO 2 )i st he most attractive alternative to titaniumo xide (TiO 2 )w ith the aim of identifying am ore positivec onduction band materialf or dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs). This study puts forward ap rotocol based on grinding, sonication, andc entrifuge to generate transparent SnO 2 pastes to minimize light reflectance losses from the metal oxide. Under optimized conditions, ah ighlyt ransparent film with substantially enhanced light penetration depth througha ctive layer SnO 2 is realized for … Show more

“…Photovoltaic characteristics were measured as previously described for single DSC devices. 58 For-series wired devices, measurements were made on the full serieswired multijunction system with a single illuminated area set to 1 sun at the front device. The J−V curves were measured directly on photon-generated electricity passing through the full multijunction system.…”

“…DSC devices were prepared as previously described in the literature. 100 Chenodeoxycholic acid (CDCA) was used as purchased from Chem-Impex International. TEC 10 glass was used for the photoanode, and TEC 7 glass was used for the counter electrode (Hartford Glass).…”

“…101 DSC cell measurements were conducted as previously reported. 100 J−V curves were generated utilizing masked solar cells with a circular active area of 0.1496 cm 2 . For low light studies, an Osram lamp (model 011318-L36W/930) was used as the illumination source.…”

“…From the reports of photocatalytic materials in last decades, SnO 2 as a photocatalyst has drawn extensive attention due to its excellent optical properties, 21 electrical properties, 22 and stable gas–sensitive properties. 23 As an n-type semiconductor, SnO 2 has a quite wide band gap of about 3.6 eV, 24 which can only be excited by ultraviolet light with a wavelength of less than 400 nm, and its absorption efficiency is low under sunlight.…”
