RESUMOObjetivo: conhecer as estratégias socioafetivas utilizadas por familiares durante o processo de maternidade de mulheres usuárias de crack. Método: estudo qualitativo realizado a partir de entrevistas semiestruturadas com cinco familiares de mães usuárias de crack. Os dados foram produzidos na residência de cada participante e analisados a partir da técnica de Análise de Conteúdo, na modalidade Análise Temática. Resultados: alguns familiares apresentaram sobrecarga em relação aos cuidados da criança e referiram que deixaram as suas atividades de lado para prestar cuidado e apoio às crianças e às usuárias durante esse processo. Conclusão: acredita-se que as necessidades dos familiares devem ser priorizadas pelos serviços de saúde e também por pesquisadores, especialmente, por serem eles a principal rede de apoio das mulheres usuárias de crack durante o processo de maternidade. ABSTRACT Objective: to know the socio-affective strategies used by family members during the maternity process of women users of crack. Method: a qualitative study based on semi-structured interviews with five relatives of mothers using crack. The data were produced at the residence of each participant and analyzed using the Content Analysis technique, in the Thematic Analysis modality. Results: some relatives presented an overload in relation to the care of the child and reported that they left their activities aside to provide care and support to the children and users during this process. Conclusion: It is believed that the needs of family members should be prioritized by the health services and also by researchers, especially as they are the main support network for women who use crack during the maternity process. Conclusión: se cree que las necesidades de los familiares deben ser priorizadas por los servicios de salud y también por investigadores, especialmente por ser ellos la principal red de apoyo de las mujeres usuarias de crack durante el proceso de maternidad. A experiência de avós no cuidado ao adolescente que consome substâncias psicoativas La experiencia de las abuelas en el cuidado al adolescente que consume sustancias psicoactivasAbstrAct Objective: To apprehend the experience of grandmothers who take care of their grandchildren who consume psychoactive substances. Methods: A descriptive study with a qualitative approach conducted with five grandmothers of two health services in a city in the interior of São Paulo. Data have collected from July 2015 to May 2016, through semi-structured interviews and analyzed using the technique of thematic content analysis. Results: The grandmothers recognized that their grandchildren used drugs when they changed their behavior, which required them to take on the role of counselor and educator. The aging process and financial difficulty consisted in limits to care. Conclusion and implications for practice: The grandmothers suffered psychosocial, structural, and organizational impacts, requiring nurses to enhance their facilitator skills in relational processes between two distinct generations of age and values.Objetivo: Apreender a experiência de avós que cuidam de seus netos que consomem substâncias psicoativas. Método: Estudo descritivo, abordagem qualitativa, realizado com cinco avós de dois serviços de saúde de uma cidade do interior paulista. Os dados foram coletados no período de julho 2015 a maio 2016, por meio de entrevista semiestruturada e analisados pela técnica de Análise de Conteúdo Temática. O referencial teórico adotado foi a teoria sistêmica. Resultados: As avós reconheceram que os netos usaram drogas quando eles apresentaram mudança de comportamento, o que requereu delas assumirem papel de conselheira e educadora. O processo de envelhecimento e a dificuldade financeira consistiram em limites para o cuidado. Conclusão e implicações para a prática: As avós sofreram impactos psicossociais, estruturais e organizacionais, o que requer do enfermeiro, em sua prática clínica, aprimorar sua habilidade de facilitador nos processos relacionais entre duas gerações distintas em idade e valores. Objective: To apprehend the perception of relatives of psychoactive substances dependents about their facilitating strengths to deal positively with the adversities from this context. Method: Qualitative and descriptive study developed between July/2016 and August/2017 at Psychosocial Care Center Alcohol and Drugs of a city on the countryside of São Paulo, through a semi-structured interview for data collection. Eight family members of chemical addicted participate. The interviews were recorded by audio, transcribed and analyzed by content analyze technique, thematic category. Results: The relatives recognized that their facilitating strengths permeated through the religiosity and spirituality, beliefs systems, support from the specialized mental health service support and of friendship, whilst social support network. The strengths also depended on the cohesion and assertive communication of the family. Conclusion: The facilitating strengths recognized by relatives help them deal positively with adversities in the chemical addiction context, strengthening the familiar resilience.
