Now-a-days every organization is moving towards on web based application and cope up lots of data sets. Data may be structured, unstructured or semi-structure. These data need processing, analysis and storage in proper format using innovative techniques and methodologies. Big data parameterized into three basic categories Volume, Variety and Velocity. The social media like Facebook, Whatsapp, Twitter, hike. are generating lots of data in a day in the form of textmessages, audio-recording, images, videos etc. The problem which appears is how to manage this huge data in a systematic way because users want quick response on web search or on smart phone access using web apps. In this paper we have studied how big data invoke in different areas like social media, atmosphere, hospitals, research centers etc. We have suggested contributions in big data categories, applications in different area's like in Machine learning, Social Network, Bio-Informatics, Data Mining, and Clouds along with challenges, future scope and storage prospects.

Abstract--Big data is a term coined for massive data sets with more varied and complex structure and also having the difficulties of storing, analysing and visualizing it for further usages. The process of diving into large amounts of data to discover patterns and disguised correlations is named as big data analytics. These are certainly useful to companies or organizations by gaining richer and deeper insights to compete in market. Thus big data implementations need to be analysed and executed efficiently as possible. Big data analytics is methodology which automates the gathering, organizing, contextualizing, processing and analysing Big data i.e. large set of data to capture patterns help make better decisions. Big data analytics challenges the situation of the present infrastructure of data storage management and also statistical data estimation. This paper studies the content, scope, methods, advantages and challenges of big data and also discusses privacy issue concern on it. The motive of the proposed study is to provide better and significant insights from research prospects and also lays an overview of data analysis methodologies and tools which are currently being utilized or proposed in literature. This work will be quite useful for the future researchers in this domain and facilitate the development of optimal techniques to address Big data.

Big Data Analytics has been gaining much focus of attention lately as researchers from industry and academia are trying to effectively extract and employ all possible knowledge from the overwhelming amount of data generated and received. Traditional data analytic methods stumble in dealing with the wide variety of data that comes in huge volumes in a short period of time, demanding a paradigm shift in storage, processing and analysis of Big Data. Owing to its significance, several agencies including U.S. government have released huge funds for research in Big Data and allied fields in recent years. This paper presents a brief overview of research progress in various areas associated to Big Data Processing and Analytics and conclude with a discussion on research directions in the same area.
