Sažetak: Multipla skleroza (MS) je hronično inflamatorno oboljenje koje najčešće pogađa mlade ljude, u periodu kada započinju svoj samostalni život. Osobe obolele od MS suočavaju se sa teškoćama u obavljanju svakodnevnih aktivnosti, problemima sa upotrebom različitih sistema podrške, ali i ograničenom podrškom ljudi iz okruženja. Cilj ovog istraživanja je bio da utvrdi faktore koji utiču na socijalno funkcionisanje: teškoće u izvođenju svakodnevnih aktivnosti, mogućnost upotrebe različitih službi iz sistema, kao i percepciju obolelih od MS o nivou podrške koji ostvaruju. Materijal i metode: Istraživanje je sprovedeno na terioriji AP Vojvodine. Uzorak je činilo 108 ispitanika obolelih od MS, relapsno-remitetne forme, starosti od 20 do 53 godine (39.86 ± 8.20). U istraživanju je primenjen: Opšti upitnik, Skala za procenu neurološkog deficita, Ček lista za procenu faktora koji utiču na socijalnu participaciju. Rezultati: Rezultati pokazuju da najveći broj ispitanika obolelih od MS ima teškoće u domenu svakodnevnih aktivnosti u oblasti menjanja osnovnog položaja tela, kretanja, izvršavanja rutinskih dnevnih aktivnosti, rekreacije i slobodnog vremena. Najveću podršku osobe obolele od MS su imale od uže porodice (73,15 %), a najmanju od poznanika, kolega, vršnjaka i članova zajednice. Službe udruženja i organizacija je najveći broj ispitanika koristio bez barijera (70,37 %). Zaključak: Ovi rezultati treba da posluže prilkom formiranja adekvatnog programa psihosocijalne podrške osobama sa MS i njihovim porodicama. U odnosu na probleme sa kojima se susreću osobe obolele od MS i njihove porodice treba organizovati celokupan sistem pomoći i podrške ovim osobama.
