Abstract

INTRODUCTION:Ostomies require intensive postoperative care and attention from patients. We hypothesized that the reading level of most online ostomy educational materials is above the NIH's recommended 7th grade level. The goal of our study was to evaluate whether the readability of existing online ostomy care instructions meets this benchmark of patient understanding.
