“…Surface layer showed higher amount of available sulphur than the sub surface in all the series due to the presence of higher amounts of organic matter in surface layers than in subsurface layers. DTPA extractable Zn, Fe, Cu, and Mn ranged from (SWA) 0.27 to 0.57, 1.50 to 4.65, 0.75 to 1.36 and 2.36 to 3.42 ppm, indicating that soils were deficient (<0.6 ppm) in Zn and Fe (<4.5 ppm) in all the soil series, which might be due to the presence of high pH and calcareous nature of soil as observed by Kumarnaik et al (2020) 6).
