“…The oven dried leaves were grounded with a stain less steel Wiley mill and digested by a dilute sulfuric-salicylic acid and 30% hydrogen peroxide; subsequently total nitrogen was determined by the modified-Kjeldahl method (Jackson, 1958); phosphorus by spectrophotometer and potassium by flame photometer (Jackson, 1958). The nutrient uptake was calculated as the product of the nutrient concentration and dry matter yield of coffee seedling as described by Ibiremo and Akanbi (2016). Accordingly the leaf N, P and K -uptake were obtained by multiplying nutrient concentration of respective parameters by leaf dry matter for each treatment.…”
