Abstract:The reactive solid-liquid equilibrium (SLE) in the quinary system 2-keto-L-gulonic acid (HKGA) + sodium-2-keto-L-gulonate (NaKGA) + hydrochloric acid (HCl) + sodium chloride (NaCl) + water was studied experimentally at 298 K and ambient pressure. The precipitation of three solid species was observed: HKGA monohydrate (HKGA • H 2 O), NaKGA monohydrate (NaKGA • H 2 O), and NaCl. A thermodynamic model based on the Pitzer model to calculate the activity coefficients in the liquid phase for the SLE was developed an… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
