Solid state Mssbauer, e.p.r., magnetic properties and thermally induced stereochemical studies on double complex salts of cyclic diamine containing cationic copper(II) complexes and a hexacyanoferrate(III) anion

Abstract: Double complex salts containing cationic Cu n having cyclic ligand piperazine (pipz), N-methylpiperazine (mpipz) and N,N'-dimethylpiperazine (dmpipz) and hexacyanoferrate(III) ion have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, i.r. and electronic spectra, and magnetic moment measurements. M6ssbauer spectra at room temperature and at 80 K, were recorded in order to evaluate the metal-metal charge transfer and the impact of the cyclic ligand present in cationic moiety of the double complex salt u… Show more

“…Moreover, Cu±Fe bimetallic compounds were found with other ligands, e.g. dien (diethylenetriamine; Kou et al, 1997), piperazine (Kundu et al, 1995) or tren [tris(2-aminoethyl)amine; Zou et al, 1997]. All these exhibit polymeric structures.…”

“…A first evidence of Cu(II) ion bound to the unprotonated nitrogen of a free piperazinium cation was also reported [19]. The only paper describing free piperazine or piperazine derivatives chelated in bidentate fashion to Cu(II) is that of Kundu et al [20].…”
