Abstract-In the current study, nano-sized SiC particulate aluminium alloy powders ranging in size from 150 to 250 m produced by a plasma rotating electrode process were synthesized by spark plasma sintering (SPS). The relationship between sintering parameters as a function of temperature, holding time, pressure and heating rate was investigated. The microstructure of the sintered composite compacts was also assessed. The density and microstructure were influenced by the eutectic phase in the aluminum alloy. Maximum relative density (100%) was obtained at 450 o C, under 50 MPa pressure, with 5 min soaking time and 100 o C/min heating rate.
