Solution Chemistry of Dihydroxyacetone and Synthesis of Monomeric Dihydroxyacetone

Abstract: Dihydroxyacetone (DHA) is a major byproduct of e-cigarette combustion and is the active ingredient in sunless tanning products. Mounting evidence points to its damaging effects on cellular functions.
