Abstract:A new metal ion-responsive azo-based fluorescent probes have been synthesized and characterized by NMR spectral techniques. Steady-state fluorometric study has been used to analyze the spectroscopic and photophysical characteristics of dye derivatives in various solvents. The fluorescence properties of these dyes are strongly solvent dependent, the wavelength of maximum fluorescence emission shifts to the red. The Kamlet-Taft and Catalan's solvent scales were found to be the most suitable for describing the so… Show more
“…The Lippert-Mataga plot was used to investigate the solvent dependent spectral shift [36]. The effect of solvent polarity on the Stokes shift of molecule is a result of the mobility of electrons in the solvent and dipole moment of solvent.…”

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
