Some Aspects of a Manufacturing Process Simulation

Abstract: The submitted paper presents possibilities of a simulation for a real manufacturing process in a company taking the risks into consideration. The risks may result from various sources in manufacturing environment. The most significant ones include a human factor, the processes in general and environs where the manufacturing process takes place. Risk can be viewed as a state where there is a possibility of a loss but also a hope of gain since one would never jeopardize the loss if there were no chance of a win.… Show more

“…The main reason for this is the high complexity of interaction between forming machine, tool structure, and process, which is currently only partially taken into account in simulations and during tool tryout [4,5].The utilization of numerical simulations to predict sheet metal forming process of ultra-high strength TRIP steel HCT690T EN 10346 [6].In the numerical simulation, the basic deformation computation of the material for the stamping and the simulation of the material spring-back that occurs after releasing the loading force of punch are performed. To prove the validity of the numerical simulation results or to perform the so-called compensation, the numerical simulation contour of the stamping is finally compared with the real contour [7][8][9]. As can be seen from the above, simulation technology has become very mature in sheet metal processing and has been widely applied.…”

“…The parameters and material characteristics measured during this type of loading can be further used as important input to numerical simulations, which through the aforementioned computational models will provide a more detailed and accurate description of the entire sheet metal stamping process. The following chapters focus on the description and evaluation of this type of mechanical material testing [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9].…”
