Some Aspects of the Photochemistry of Benzene‐d1

Abstract: Emission yields of benzene‐d1 vapor excited at several wavelengths between 245 and 265 nm have been determined. Triplet yields based on the sensitized emission of biacetyl have been obtained. High pressure, oxygen perturbed singlet‐triplet absorption spectra and the phosphorescence lifetime in EPA glass for C6H5D have been recorded and compared to that of C6H6. The photochemistry of Boltzmann distributions of vibronic levels of C6H5D and C6H6 are very similar.
