Some Correlates of Rural‐urban Led Urbanization in Lagos, Nigeria

Abstract: In this paper, we analyze some correlates of urbanization in Lagos resulting from rural‐urban migration. We provide empirical evidence to show that the gross domestic product of Lagos State is insignificant in determining the pace of rural‐urban led urbanization. However, urbanization significantly reduces as state government expenditure on housing and modern health is increased.
