- Lo and associates (65c) demonstrated that dithizone administered to dogs induces prompt cessation of prostatic fluid secretion, a decrease in the Zn 65 uptake by prostatic tissue, a marked fall in prostatic zinc concentration, and striking changes in the histologic appearance of the prostate. The rather selective necrosis within the lateral portion of the rat prostate contrasts with the slight changes in other lobes (59).
