Abstract:SUMMARYFour new methods are presented a method of accelerating the truncation error convergence, a fourth and fifth order difference scheme for discretizing the normal partial derivatives, high order quadrature formulae for integrating a stream function and a third order implicit scheme for treating the streamwise partial derivatives. These are seen to be effective in finding solutions to the boundary layer equations in which the step sizes are adaptively altered to meet an error bound.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
