Sorbitol Hydrogenolysis to Glycols over Baisic Additive Promoted Ni-based Catalysts

Abstract: A series of Ni based catalysts with different supports and basic additives were prepared by sequential impregnation method. The catalysts were characterized by XRD, BET, H 2-TPR and CO 2-TPD techniques. It was found that the introduction of basic additives enhanced the basicities of catalyats and promoted the dispersities of Ni particles by strong interaction between Ni 2+ and basic additives. Among the Ni based catalysts, 10%Ni/10%La 2 O 3 /ZrO 2 showed the superior performance in sorbitol hydrogenolysis. The… Show more

“…With La 2 O 3 introduction, the intensity of NiO decreased, which indicated that La 2 O 3 improved the dispersion of NiO by the enhanced interaction between Ni 2+ and La 2 O 3 . 30 With increasing La 2 O 3 in the catalysts, no obvious changes in NiO diffraction patterns could be observed. However, with further increasing La 2 O 3 loading to >10%, the intensity of ZrO 2 and NiO decreased remarkably.…”
