Abstract: Multiple gut antimicrobial mechanisms are coordinated in space and time to efficiently fight foodborne pathogens. InDrosophila melanogaster, production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) together with intestinal cell renewal play a key role in eliminating gut microbes.
