Spatial anisotropy of the quantum spin liquid system YbMgGaO4 revealed by ab initio calculations

Abstract: A few years ago, YbMgGaO 4 was proposed by Li and coauthors [18,19] as a novel candidate material for QSL measurements. The authors claim a negligible number of magnetic defects, as well as neglecting interlayer exchange in this material, which leads to a frustrated S = 1/2 system notably approaching to a QSL ground-state at low temperatures.
