Spatial characterization of propagation channels for terahertz band

Abstract: The aim of this work consists in characterizing the Terahertz (THz) propagation channel in an indoor environment, in order to propose a channel model for THz bands. We first described a propagation loss model by taking into account the attenuation of the channel as a function of distance and frequency. The impulse response of the channel is then described by a set of rays, characterized by their amplitude, their delay and their phase. Apart from the frequency selective nature, path loss in THz band is also an … Show more

“…For this, several techniques are considered, including the rise in frequency towards the millimeter wave spectrum (Terahertz frequency bands). This approach is the basis of this contribution which presents the results of the characterization and statistical modeling of the THz propagation channel [3][4][5][6][7]. A radioelectric transmission system makes it possible to transform an electrical signal emitted x(t) into an electrical signal received y(t) by means of electromagnetic waves OEM.…”

“…Much research carried out in literature to present the interest of THz technology. Authors [13] have proposed a channel model for THz bands. They focused on the multipath effect produced in the THz propagation channel in [14] a data transmission technique for THz system is presented.…”

“…Several works have been developed in the literature to propose a THz channel model. [3][4][5][6] Fu et al have proposed in Reference 3 a statistical model for THz channel. The work carried out in Reference 3 was based on existing statistical models to simulate the behavior of the channel.…”
