Spatial distribution pattern and driving mechanism of tourist attractions in Gansu Province based on POI data

Ruijuan Peng,
Wanqianrong Gao

Abstract: The article utilizes POI (Point of Interest) data of tourist attractions in Gansu Province in 2021, adopts Moran’s I and kernel density analysis to study the spatial distribution pattern of tourist attractions in Gansu Province, and uses spatial autoregressive modeling to explore the driving mechanism affecting their spatial distribution pattern. The results show that: (1) Gansu Province has a large number and rich types of tourist attractions, and there are differences in the number of different types of tour… Show more

“…The government plays an important role in regulating and supervising the spatial distribution of scenic spots [ 41 ]. Based on the scientific nature of indicators and data availability, combined with existing studies [ 20 , 21 , 41 , 46 ], this study analyzes the spatiotemporal evolutionary driving mechanism of high-level Grade A tourist attractions in the YRD urban agglomeration from four aspects: natural environment, resource endowment, socioeconomics, and policy context ( Table 2 ).…”

“…International scholars' research on tourist attractions began in the 1960s [6], primarily focusing on the analysis and classification [7,8], evaluation and competition [9][10][11], marketing and planning [12,13], tourists' perceptions [14][15][16], and spatial distribution of scenic spots [17][18][19][20][21][22][23][24]. The spatial distribution of tourist attractions has become a new research hotspot in recent years.…”

“…Third is the evaluation of public space vitality. The evaluation factors includes various factors, such as the street network, functional density, diversity, and accessibility [37,38]. Some studies evaluate public space vitality based on spatial environmental amenities, including sanitation facilities, fitness and entertainment facilities, and facilities for different age groups [39,40].…”
