Gender‐differentiated roles, responsibilities, access, rights, and knowledge gaps shape women's vulnerability to climate change. This is especially critical for women farmers whose livelihoods are climate‐dependent. A key component in building women farmers’ resilience to climate change is deepening their adaptive capacity. Therefore, this research sought to measure the adaptive capacity of women farmers from two unique districts of Ghana using the sustainable livelihood capitals and investigate how access to climate information and the uptake of climate action can influence women's adaptive capacity. Rural women farmers (n = 497) were interviewed through a survey and supported with key informant interviews from six agricultural staff at the selected districts. The adaptive capacity of respondents was rated moderate at 0.405. Differences between the adaptive capacity of women from different agroecological zones (Dormaa East—0.422; East Gonja—0.388) were statistically insignificant (p > 0.05). All climate information mediums except the TV medium had a significant prediction on women farmers’ adaptive capacity. The odds of a decreasing relationship of predictor variables, such as extension officer medium, radio, and adaptation action, require strategic structuring to accrue holistic benefit. The study thus recommends deepening women's benefit from extension services by attracting and retaining female extensionists, while training extensionists on tailored techniques for engaging female farmers. Again, extensionists who report high outreach to female farmers should be incentivized. Traditional and modern Information and Communication Technology mediums must be explored and integrated as alternatives. Co‐benefit practices for both adaptation and mitigation should be encouraged among women farmers to deepen climate action.

To improve the ergonomic reliability of medical equipment design during the operation process, a method for evaluating the operating procedure of a medical equipment interface according to functional resonance analysis method (FRAM)-Moran’s I and cognitive reliability and error analysis method (CREAM) is proposed in this study. The novelty of this research is to analyze the ergonomic reliability of medical equipment in a more systematic manner and to minimize the impact of human subjectivity and individual differences on the evaluation results of the operation process. To solve the calculation problem of functional resonance in FRAM and to make the evaluation results more objective, Moran’s I was introduced to quantify the deviation degree caused by the individual differences of the subjects. By giving weights based on Moran’s I, the influence of individual differences and subjectivity on the evaluation results can be minimized, to a certain extent. Considering the importance of a special environment, which is not fully considered by the conventional CREAM, the weighting values based on Moran’s I, Delphi survey, and technique for order preference by similarity to an ideal solution (TOPSIS) were adopted to assign weights to common performance conditions (CPCs) in CREAM. The optimal design scheme was selected more objectively than in the conventional method. The validity and practicability of this operation process evaluation method was verified by a statistical method based on ergonomic reliability experiments.

ZusammenfassungAnpassungskapazitätsbewertung ist ein methodisch anspruchsvolles Feld. Zentrale Herausforderungen sind a) die Komplexität und Vielfalt an Wirkbeziehungen und Faktoren, die eine Rolle spielen und in der Einschätzung berücksichtigt werden müssen; b) die Notwendigkeit, ohne verlässliche Trends in die Zukunft zu blicken; c) das Erfordernis, Potenziale zu bewerten statt real messbarer Tatbestände. Die bundesweite Klimawirkungs- und Risikoanalyse 2021 (KWRA 2021) präsentiert eine Weiterentwicklung bestehender Analysen, welche die Herausforderungen betreffend Komplexität, Zukünftigkeit und Potenzialcharakter über verschiedene methodische Ansätze zu reduzieren versucht. Die Analyse umfasst Betrachtungen auf sektoraler und generischer Ebene und stellt diese durch die Verwendung von sechs Anpassungsdimensionen in einen gemeinsamen methodischen Kontext. Auch auf kommunaler Ebene steigt die Forschungstätigkeit an, bisher bestehen dort allerdings nur vereinzelte Anpassungskapazitätsbewertungen. Als Vorschlag für die Kategorisierung der Anpassungskapazität auf kommunaler Ebene wenden die Verfassenden die sechs Dimensionen der Bundesebene auch hier an.
