Spatial-Temporal Evolution of Ecological Security in Beijing based on Emergetic Ecological Footprint

Keling Liu,
Bin Chen

Abstract: With high population density and intensive energy consumption, Beijing has long been facing the huge challenge of ecological security in context of coordinated development of environment, economy and dispersed urban functions. Combining statistical and grid data, this paper analyzed the ecological security status in Beijing from three scales, i.e., city, sub-city and grid, based on an emergetic ecological footprint model. Results show that Beijing has been in ecological deficit and sub-security status with une… Show more

“…𝐶 𝑖 is the emission coefficient of the pollutant per unit i. Among them, the pollution production coefficient, utilization rate and loss rate of each index refer to the research results of Liang and Lai (Liang, 2009;Lai, 2004), and refer "Handbook of Agricultural Source Coefficients for the First National Pollution Census". In order to have a unified standard in the study, the pollutants are converted into equivalent pollutants according to the Type III water quality standard in GB3838-2002.…”

“…The remote sensing images were pre-processed with radiation correction, geometric correction, image alignment, and other features based on Landsat4-5 MSS/TM (resolution of 30m), Landsat7 TM/ETM (resolution of 30m), and Landsat8 OLI (resolution of 15m after panchromatic band processing) data. A combination of supervised classification and visual interpretation was used to obtain land use data for1989 , 1999, 2009.6 software randomly selected 500 sample points in Songnen Plain to extract information on land use/cover classification results in…”
