“…However, detailed on-farm studies evaluating the yield gap in rainfed lowland rice and determining the varieties contributing to the yield gap in the mid-hills of Nepal are rare. A recent study by Haefele et al (2014) indicated that grain yields in the Mid-hills vary considerably between different landscape positions and distances from the house, mainly depending on the nutrient supply and available water resources. Highest grain yields were observed in the field which were near the house whereas lowest yield were seen in the field far from the house and on upper fields were water resources and nutrient supplies are limited.…”
