Spatial Zoning of the Value Realization Models for Ecological Products in Shibing Karst Natural World Heritage Site

Abstract: Natural World Heritage properties provide humanity with a rich and diverse range of ecological products, and the realization of their economic value is related to heritage protection and the improvement of community residents’ well-being. In this study, the equivalent factor method was used to calculate the ecological product value (EPV), and the fishnet tool in ArcGIS was used for spatial zoning. The main land use type of the study area is forest land, accounting for over 82% of the total area. The conversion… Show more

“…Using the Create Fishnet tool in Arc GIS 10.2 software, a grid of the study area was prepared. Based on the reference literature [9,54,55] and repeated experiments, the study area was divided into square grid cells with a size of 250 m × 250 m. The spatial distribution pattern of the EPV of LUCC in Maolan and Mulun NRs in 2022 was visually analyzed.…”

“…The value of eco-products comes from the value of ESs [8]. When calculating value, ecological product value (EPV) can be considered ecosystem service value (ESV) [9]. The early concept of eco-industry originated from the "ecological industry system" and "industrial ecology" [10].…”

“…The main difference between eco-products and ESs lies in their conceptual attributes. Therefore, ecological product value (EPV) can be regarded as being the same as ecological services value (ESV) when calculating the value [7]. Thus eco-products are in line with ESs, but the difference is that Chinese characteristics are integrated into eco-products [8].…”
