Technology abuse is rising in an age where communication technology is used daily. This can happen through social platforms, media, and even represented in streaming platforms. Some people can be affected by technology abuse, including sexual objectification victims. This study investigates the impact of disinformation represented in the movie, Photocopier (2021). Therefore, it aims to find the impact of technology-enabled disinformation and how society plays a role in the digital era concerning a sexual objectification case as portrayed in Photocopier (2021) movie. The information is gathered from dialogues and scenes in the movie and then analyzed using cascading theory and sexual objectification theory. The study used a qualitative approach to achieve its goals. The findings suggest that technology has a negative impact on sexual objectification victims due to the rapid transmission of important records, which leads to victim blaming. Furthermore, society purposefully disseminates confidential sexual objectification documents without sympathizing with the victims. Therefore, it can be said that disinformation caused by technological advancement happens and impacts some people negatively. Society must be aware and play a more supporting role, thus resulting in a sustainable society living with technology for more beneficial effect.

This article contains concluding reflections for a special issue on sexual harassment among young people. In this concluding article, we reflect on the 14 individual papers in the special issue through three cross‐cutting themes, each with important implications for policy and practice. The themes highlight that (1) attitudes and norms related to sexual harassment are core to its occurrence among young people, (2) the sexual harassment experiences of minority and otherwise hidden youth need to be heard, and (3) innovative approaches and methods advance the current knowledge about sexual harassment among young people. Furthermore, we stress that school policies against sexual harassment need to be reflected in the behaviors of school personnel and peers, and that both students and teachers need to be equipped with the knowledge and skills to combat sexual harassment. It is our hope that this special issue will be valuable for researchers, the formulation of societal and school policies, and for the design of developmentally informed interventions.

Sexual assault and harassment (SAH) has become an increasing global concern that disproportionately impacts gender and sexual minority youth, yet research is scarce outside Western nations. In addition, sexual assault and sexual harassment are closely related experiences in both academic inquiries on sexual victimization and public discussion in the global #Metoo movement. Drawing from a large Chinese college student sample (N = 50,818), we investigated the prevalence of SAH victimization during childhood, adolescence, and emerging adulthood, as well as the SAH disparities between sexual minority and heterosexual youth. The population‐weighted prevalence of SAH victimization was estimated to be 20.23% during childhood, 42.87% during adolescence, and 21.87% during emerging adulthood, with more than half of the youth (55.41%) having ever experienced any SAH. Logistic regression results suggested girls and sexual minorities were disproportionally impacted across childhood, adolescence, and emerging adulthood. The discussion is framed in the context of Chinese culture and current Chinese legislation related to SAH.
