Abstract

We deeply appreciate the support and encouragement by Daniela Cocchi and Luiz Duczmal, Editors-in-Chief of Environmental and Ecological Statistics. Their kind help and constant endorsement were invaluable in ensuring the high quality of the published work. We would also like to express our gratitude and appreciation to all the speakers of the GRASPA2023 conference, the authors of the papers proposed to the collection and the reviewers, for their constructive comments on the papers.The focus of this collection is the statistical modelling of complex environmental data in space and time, facing contemporary environmental challenges.
