Regional endemism is known, e.g., for Papua New Guinea [ 11 ], Macaronesia [ 12 , 13 ], Galapagos [ 14 , 15 ], Hawaii [ 16 ], Socotra [ 17 ], the Caribbean [ 18 ], Madagascar [ 19 ], Japan [ 20 , 21 ], New Zealand [ 22 ], and Tasmania [ 23 ].
