Specific features of special discourse genres in information technology

The purpose of this study is to make an attempt to assess the innovation activity on the achieved result , expressed in indicators that determine the socioeconomic level of country development, as it is the purpose of innovation In the applied method of calculating the evaluation of the effectiveness of innovation (Data environment Analysis) these indicators were the results, while the indicators of innovation were considered as a "resource". Rental indicators, Gini index and others , reflecting (directly or indirectly) the result of innovations was also taken into account. The results showed values that were less inconsistent with the estimates for other related indexes and indicators , while the evaluation with existing methods gave more inaccurate results. This suggests that the proposed method gives a more objective assessment of the innovation level in the country and more accurately determines the country 's place in the world ranking. The main source of the world economy development today is the innovation, an integrated assessment of which on a national scale can itself act as an indicator of the level of economic and — in a broader sense — the socio-economic level of the country development . From this point of view, an objective assessment of the innovation development level, as well as the development and proposal of methods for its evaluation are still relevant. Up-to-date assessment methods mainly assess the potential of countries to develop innovations, while their achieved level should be assessed, since, with significant differences in the development of countries , these potential opportunities can be realized to varying degrees.

Energy Saving and Clean Technology for Natural Gas Transporting

Sustainable development of the Arctic oil and gas deposits depends on the reliable and efficient operation of the gas transportation system (GTS), which development has great importance for industry growth. In spite of high reliability of GTS, it is necessary for such specific area, as Arctic is, to use the technology, which is safe and clean. In this paper, the major factors influencing on industrial and ecological safety of GTS are analyzed, revealed factors which impact GTS safety, and on that base measures for providing safety are proposed. The paper shows that use of gas-turbine engines of gas-compressor units (GCU) results in the following features: emissions of hazardous substances in the atmosphere; pollution by toxic waste; harmful noise and vibration; thermal impact on the environment; decrease in energy efficiency. It is shown that for the radical problem resolution of industrial and ecological safety of gas-transmission system it is reasonable to use gas-compressor units driven by electric motors. For such critical issue as clean and safe gas transporting in the Arctic region the gas compressor units with electrical drives has a great perspective for implementation, taking into account their serious advantages and industrial tests in Europe and USA.

Assessment of Industrial and Financial Applications of Innovation Development

The purpose of this study is to make an analysis of indicators and methods used to calculate the Global Innovation Index (GII), which assesses the level of innovation development in a country . Within this index the shortcomings lead to overestimation for the developing countries . These indicators predominantly reflect not the achieved innovation development level, but‎the‎country’s‎potential‎to‎achieve it. The GDP (less than the resource rent ), calculated using the purchasing power parity and normalized per the number of people employed in a country, was chosen as baseline. In calculating the integral indicator (Ri), the baseline was adjusted‎for‎the‎country’s‎ competitiveness level and the Gini coefficient. The integral indicator values were derived for the selected states of OECD and BRICS (total of 38 countries) and the countries were ranked respectively . To substantiate the validity of the suggested methodology and the objectiveness of the assessment, a comparison with the estimates using the GII was carried out. It is offered to estimate the achieved innovation level by the outcome indicators, namely, by the indicators reflecting the attained level of social and economic development on the premise that this level has been reached due to innovation and these indicators‎are‎invariant‎to‎the‎countries’‎development‎level. The suggested methodology can be considered either separately in the process of assessing the innovation development level of a country or as a complementary to the assessment using the GII , which allows to analyze the country’s‎ prospects‎ in‎ terms of innovation‎proceeding‎from‎the‎‘attained‎level’.
