Spectinomycin in Gonorrhoea

Abstract: May 1974 75 patients treated with penicillin (1.25 megaunits) -68 followed 75 patients treated with spectinomycin 2g. -71 followed TABLE III Comparison of Spectlnomycln and PenicillinIn Male Gonorrhoea SUMMARY A total of 331 males and 196 females suffering from uncomplicated gonorrhoea were treated with spectinomycin (Trobicin) 2g. Cure rates of 97.9% and 93.3% were obtained in males and females respectively. The antibiotic was very well tolerated and side-effects were almost nil-one case of urticaria.
