Abstract:We present synthetic spectra corresponding to a 2.5D magnetohydrodynamic simulation of a rotating prominence in the k Ly alpha , and Ly beta lines. The prominence rotation resulted from angular momentum conservation within a flux rope where asymmetric heating imposed a net rotation prior to the thermal-instability-driven condensation phase. The spectra were created using a library built on the framework called which provides boundary conditions for incorporating the limb-darkened irradiation of the solar disk… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
