Spectral coupling of elements of integrated optical devices based on chalcogenide glasses

Abstract: Spectral analysis is performed of the effective refractive index and the power transfer coefficient for a waveguide mode propagating from a three-layer to a four-layer planar structure with a high-refractive-index upper layer. Conditions of both optimal and extreme coupling of the three-and four-layer regions of the structure are considered depending on the wavelength. A spectral method of detection of extreme regions is proposed.
